The postponed “Bitcoin: Shape the Future” Summit and documentary premiere will move to Hong Kong, on Wednesday 20th September. Most of the guest speakers from the original Beijing event — including John McAfee and Jihan Wu — will still attend.
Group tickets are still available for the event, which will now be at Hong Kong’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. However, VIP tickets are sold out.
Apart from the date and long-distance venue shift, the new event will be identical (which was supposed to happen on 10-11th September). Regulatory uncertainty in China surrounding ICOs and cryptocurrency exchanges led organizers to make the changes.
Timely: Summit and Documentary Look at Bitcoin in China
The Summit is concerned only with Bitcoin issues, with some Bitcoin Cash developers also due to speak. All the high-profile guest speakers will still be able to attend the Summit — including John McAfee, Craig Wright, Roger Ver, Jihan Wu and CEOs from several other prominent Bitcoin companies.
It will also still feature the premiere of BitKan’s “Shape the Future” documentary, an insiders’ history of Bitcoin in China.
Ironically, the documentary premiere itself has become part of that narrative.
Other guests are Huobi CEO Leon Li, BTC.TOP CEO and investor Jiang Zhuoer, and RSK Labs CEO Diego Gutierrez.
The second day event, the “CTO and above” Tech Session, will also take place in Hong Kong, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM on Thursday 21st September.
The public response to the Summit and premiere had been overwhelmingly positive, with all tickets selling out. Organizer BitKan shared the disappointment of any attendees no longer able to come, and will refund unused tickets.
The main event and premiere will happen on Wednesday 20th September There’s more information and updates to the Summit schedule on BitKan’s site.
