Interview With Professor John Fox, Oxford University
The following is the live interview content:
Q: Hello everyone, I am Gong Hui from the China-UK Blockchain Association. Today, I came to Oxford University to interview John Fox, a professor at Oxford University. Hello Professor Fox, can you briefly introduce yourself?
A: Hello everyone, as you said, I am a professor at Oxford University. In addition, I have in-depth research on AI and cognitive computing, such as using AI to solve medical problems. Recently, I worked with Seele to apply Seele’s blockchain smart contract technology to medical research. I have a lot of experience in the application of AI to the medical field, and various diseases in medicine have accumulated more and more data. High quality data makes disease research more confidential and safe. Blockchain technology gives me a better direction to make data safer and more efficient.
Q: It seems that you think Seele is a very good project. What is the specific content of your cooperation with Seele?
A: After the Seele exchange launched, I was very interested in their blockchain smart contract technology. Our cooperation includes many aspects. For example, personal medical data can be shared securely through the blockchain, and the smart contracts can be combined with medical care to achieve multidisciplinary and distributed medical teams, as well as artificial intelligence and knowledge engineering.
Q: Yes, blockchain technology has been applied to many fields, and medical research is also a very important part. Everyone is very concerned about the application of the blockchain in the medical field. Can you disclose the specific projects that cooperate with Seele?
A: We will focus on the research part first, and then a British institution will join the development system, and later will cooperate with several hospitals to apply.
