LiveJasmin Hones in on Crypto Via PumaPay

On October 15th, LiveJasmin announced its partnership with PumaPay in a deal that will see the adult streaming and chat maestros implementing the blockchain-based PullPayment Protocol in “all its websites, including payments to its models, studios and affiliates.”

Being 33rd in the United States and 61st globally in current Alexa Traffic Ranks, LiveJasmin is not only among the most popular adult sites in the world but is also more generally one the most popular websites, period.

To that end, their PumaPay embrace is not insignificant. The live streaming site said the play’s emphasis on recurring payments made them an ideal partner for crypto processing services.

Adult industry entrepreneurs are getting more and more crypto options.

“Now, users can easily pay their subscriptions with cryptocurrencies and ensure their anonymity, while merchants can save on card transaction fees and avoid chargebacks,” the site noted of their onboarding with the PullPayment Protocol.

“Being the market leader often goes hand-in-hand with offering our members the most options possible,” LiveJasmin co-founder and chief operating officery Károly Papp commented on the move. “User anonymity and privacy are also paramount for the website.”

More on PumaPay

Beyond recurring payments, PumaPay’s billing protocol offers a range of transaction types, including the following:

PumaPay chief operating officer Yoav Dror has argued such nimbleness will lead to further adoption for the project’s native token, PMA.

On the LiveJasmin news, Dror said:

“With the flexibility of PumaPay billing scenarios, we hope to make the PMA token a widely adopted payment method, meeting the needs of merchants and customers alike.”

In the Wake of Pornhub’s Own Crypto Pivots

In making the foray toward crypto with PumaPay, LiveJasmin joins other industry powers like Pornhub who have already dipped their toes into the PumaPay ecosystem.

For its part, Pornhub has made a series of cryptocurrency-centric moves in 2018, and that track record seems set to continue accordingly.

Back in April, Pornhub integrated the privacy crypto Verge (XVG) for user payments, though the asset experienced a series of 51 percent attacks just a few weeks later.

Around that time, the undeterred site declared that Vice Industry Tokens (VIT) would be awarded to the winners of the 2018 Pornhub Games. Then, in June, Pornhub announced they would be integrating Tron (TRX) and ZenCash (ZEN) for payments — moves which raised eyebrows at the time because of the available alternatives.

SpankChain’s Been in the News

Blockchain-centric adult industry payments play SpankChain made headlines a few days ago after a hacker who had made off with a trove of the project’s ETH returned the funds after a phone conversation with SpankChain chief operating officer Ameen Soleimani.

Luckily, more good came from this episode than bad, as the attacker not only eventually returned the funds but also performed a bit of an audit.

The incident is a testament to the growing attention being paid to crypto by porn industry players and the attention that’s growing around such an embrace. Expect that dynamic to continue for the foreseeable future.
